Cemetery Plot and Columbarium Vault Pricing

The purchase of rights to a Cemetery Plot or lease of a Columbarium Vault entitles the Purchaser or Licensee to perpetual use. The University of Virginia will retain property rights and assumes the responsibility of perpetual care of the Cemetery and Columbaria.

To initiate a purchase submit the following:

• Demographic Record (indicating requested site(s))
• Signed Agreement(s) – Plot and/or Columbarium
• Check (made payable to the University of Virginia)

The completed Demographic Record Form can be emailed to uvacemetery@virginia.edu to expedite the University’s confirmation of eligibility. The completed demographic form, original signed agreement(s) and checks should be mailed to:

Upon eligibility criteria being satisfied through the University’s review and approval of the submitted Demographic Record, the University will be in contact to confirm the preferred locations for rights to a Cemetery Plot and/or a Columbarium Vault. Once the agreement is finalized with the University’s signature, you will be mailed a packet for your records, providing a copy of the signed agreement, a map and the Cemetery & Columbarium Manual.
